Mushroom Beds
Queendom fungi are the illusive mystical alchemists of soil. They are the lower strata, appearing when the conditions are just right.
Whether you wish to…

What does this look like?

Design Possibilities
Garden Inoculation: we will inoculate an area of your garden you wish to inoculate with fungi. Fungi fuel life in soil, providing aeration, water retention & nutrient cycling of organic matter.
Beehive Installation: we can create a mushroom patch underneath beehives, helping to suppress weeds/grasses for a clear flight path, offering medicine for the bees at their doorstep & also culinary mushrooms for you to enjoy!
Water Filtration: we can create a mushroom bed where a spring occurs to filter & clean water as it passes through the land, as well as provide delicious edible mushrooms.

Camphor laurel is a prolific local tree weed that largely populates the landscapes of the Northern Rivers.
Due to large scale logging, the big scrub rainforest has been reduced to a shocking 1%.
Colonizers brought over their prized camphor laurel trees which now dominate the landscape.
We can be grateful for the benefit these trees provide by being trees. However, the native rainforest is coming back!
Underneath the canopy of most camphor laurel forests are native trees patiently awaiting for solar rays to grace their leaves.
We believe in creating a disturbance and bringing in the medicine.
Chop, Drop & Inoculate these trees with native robust mushroom strains equipped to break down this organic matter and produce mushroom medicine for the ecosystem and human alike.
The tree is chopped up into smaller pieces, inoculated with fungal species and stacked in appropriate location.
We have tested, observed and researched methods on how best to kill back fast growing camphor laurel. After we have chopped back the tree, the stump and roots are inoculated. We observed a quarter of the size and overall regrowth from the camphor laurel trees compared with uninoculated control. After a year of growth, marbled signs of Turkey tail mycelial growth showed through the wood.
After chopping down camphor tree, simple snapping off regrowth 1-2x per year is necessary otherwise the fungi will be hard at work to decompose the tree, rendering the tree obsolete.

What health benefits do fungi offer the earth?
Building soils
Fungi are saprotrophs, meaning they break down organic matter. As nature’s recyclers, they decompose the toughest materials such as hardwood through to lush alive soils for plants to thrive.
Creating harmony for plants to thrive
Nature is infinitely interconnected, fungi are the illusive orchestrators behind the scenes. Fungi break down and unlock vital vitamins and minerals for plants to access. A macronutrient they make bioavailable is phosphorous. The enzymes and acids excreted from fungi are medicine for all of natures organisms creating healthy balance amongst insect and microorganisms diversity. Create healthy soil structures. And so so much more.
Erosion
Erosion occurs when little to no structure grounds land in place. The thin mycelial hyphae of fungi extends into the far nooks of soils, binding and aerating soils throughout their matrix. This opens up potential for plant life to excel in creating root system which holding space below ground.

Many of these pollutants such as glyphosate are water soluble impregnating all that water touches (fungi are working on helping us with this mess). You can help too! Bees are keystone species, essential for the production of majority of food nature provides. The health of our bees is declining at a concerning rate due to use of harmful chemicals, thankful fungi can help.
